A Sacred Union Surrounded by Love

On May 31, 2025, Kira and Esteban shared their love surrounded by family and friends. Kira spent the quiet morning getting ready by herself at home. As her hair and makeup were being done, I captured a few intimate images of her. When it was time to slip into her dress—a stunning, vintage-style gown with sleeves that reached her wrists—it fit her like it was made just for her.

Outside, her family gathered in their quaint backyard, standing beneath umbrellas as soft rain gently drizzled around them. First, we captured a heartfelt first look with her mom and dad. Her father was overcome with emotion—tears of joy filling his eyes as he saw his little girl all grown up. Her brothers waited patiently nearby, and when it was finally their turn, they beamed with pride at how beautiful their sister looked.

After leaving her home, I made my way to Our Lady of Fatima Church, where Kira and Esteban held a beautifully intimate ceremony. The church was grand, with tall ceilings, rows of wooden pews, and a raised altar at the front. As guests began to fill the seats, a quiet excitement settled in the room—everyone eager to witness this special moment.

When Kira walked down the aisle, Esteban’s face lit up with pure love. He embraced her father warmly before taking Kira’s hand, and together they stepped forward, standing before their loved ones as the priest began the ceremony.

The lighting in the church was definitely a new challenge for me. I knew I didn’t want to use flash during their ceremony, so I had to quickly figure out the right settings for the low indoor light. I have to say, the Unscripted App has truly been one of my go-to tools—it helped me dial in my settings and capture the ceremony beautifully.

After the ceremony, Kira and Esteban stood at the front of the church, greeting their guests one by one. There was so much joy in the air as everyone embraced, shared congratulations, and celebrated the start of a beautiful new chapter.

Once the last hugs were shared, Kira and Esteban made their exit in the most perfect way—a vintage Westfalia camper van. As a fellow Westy lover, I was beyond excited to see someone else who shares that same passion. The van was adorned with white decor and a big “Just Married” sign on the back. It was such a fun, creative, and personal way to end the ceremony.

After the ceremony, Kira, Esteban, their family, and I made our way down to Dominion Park. The park was absolutely stunning—with open grassy fields, vibrant rhododendron blooms, and the soft sound of water flowing through small creeks.

We began with family photos, finding a few open spots that could comfortably fit the larger groups. And stayed in the shade where we could, as the afternoon sun beamed down, adding a warm glow to the entire scene.

Once Kira and Esteban said their goodbyes to their family, we began their couple portraits. We started on a beautiful stone bridge, crafted from irregular rocks that blended seamlessly into the lush greenery around it. As we continued, they mentioned a small area nearby with a tiny waterfall. When we arrived, I spotted a set of cement stairs tucked beneath a canopy of trees. I had them stand there, and Kira’s dress flowed gracefully down the steps, creating such a romantic and timeless scene.

After wrapping up their portraits at Dominion Park, we made our way to one of my favorite parts of Kira and Esteban’s day — their session at the Salish Sea Aquarium. It was here that their personalities truly shined as they embraced their shared love for marine life and let their playful, nerdy sides come out. Amid glowing tanks and swirling schools of fish, they shared quiet, intimate moments that felt straight out of a dream. We photographed them surrounded by jellyfish, watched tiny salmon fry dart through the water, and even spent time laughing and exploring together at the touch tank. It was the perfect blend of romance and wonder — uniquely them.
